Katherine Bourne is an emerging artist and designer currently based in Brisbane, Queensland. Her focuses are Sculpture and Installation art, and contemporary Jewellery. Her practice has explored large scale installation, sculptural objects, video and sound mediums. Bourne’s work has previously investigated social and environmental subjects particular to the Australian context. She aims to induce shock, while triggering thought on a personal level within her audience. Bourne’s work emphasises making and a hands-on approach which is also shown through her jewellery making. Her pieces consist of silversmithing unusual forms.

In the coming years Bourne aims to refocus on the environment and sustainability, as well as explore the notion of guilt, productivity and moving forward in her upcoming work and research, while travelling through regional areas of Australia.
